Victoria Neblik was the penname of Dr Victoria L Welch, magazine writer, biologist, university lecturer (Maitre des conferences) and occasional public speaker. Born in 1978, her first publications date from 2001. Between 2001 and 2016, Victoria published over 60 articles, plus botanical and wildlife photographs and longer and more technical works. Notable scientific works included papers in Nature and Current Biology and a co-authored technical book on insect colours. Her magazine article circulation peaked at 1.3 million for a single piece on tropical fish. Two childrens' books, two photographic books for adults (one on wildlife, one on botany) and an account of life as a globe-trotting research scientist are awaiting publication as of July 2016. Outside of work, she had a strong interest in Asian cultures, held a second degree black belt in Aikido and was a keen open-water swimmer .This website is an imperfect attempt to collect information on the bulk of Victoria's published work in one place, so it is easy to find.
